How We Started…
In 1998 Mr. Lonnie Ray Daniels was inspired by God to help bring scattered men together in the Beaufort county, NC, area. Mr. Daniels vowed to target men of all ages and diversity in the local community by helping them improve their mindset, integrity, lifestyle, finances, and employment; thus reducing crime, poverty, unemployment, and hunger in the area where he grew up and loved so dearly. Although Mr. Daniels was often burdened by dreams to move the vision forward, he attempted to delegate his vision to others as his unrelated job carried him around the country.
As the years passed, God reminded him that the vision was his, and as the visionary, he came to understand that he had to birth and nurture this vision if it was expected to grow. He still needed help. In 2011 God sent Mr. Walter Farrow, who was also well-connected, to assist Mr. Daniels in reaching and improving the mindset of men of different ages and diversity. They identified themselves as “Men of a Different Spirit,” an outreach organization. In August 2012, Mr. Daniels called a few respected men in his church and community. Together he was well connected. From that, a Board of Directors was formed.
In September 2012, the Non-Profit Organization of Brotherly Love, Inc. was born and is now in operation.

Our Mission
The mission of Brotherly Love is to alleviate poverty, unemployment, crime, hunger, and the negative mindset of men of all ages in various Counties throughout Eastern North Carolina by providing training programs that teach men (that may have never had fathers or big brothers to look to for guidance) how to conduct themselves in community and professional environments.
We provide food for less fortunate people by soliciting, collecting, and packaging food for distribution through a network of agencies and programs and providing opportunities for self-sufficiency. Our services and programs include food box programs, male emergency shelters, congregate meal sites, job training programs, jobs, and male mentoring programs.
Our Goals
Brotherly Love’s goal is to recruit as many male members as possible into the organization to support us in reaching a large diverse range of men in a more timely manner. Our goal is to teach men of all ages how to become better contributors to their community, better employees, and better fathers, brothers, and friends, thus becoming better all-around American citizens.
It is also our goal to employ or help get employed any man that desires to work regardless of background, race, political affiliation, or disabilities. We vow to train and support men of all ages with job opportunities by starting new businesses and services, thus creating new jobs within our organization for those that qualify through our trainings and helping those we cannot employ to find the job they qualify for.
